Escape your mundane everyday life and treat yourself with a nice holiday to the Philippines. Two weeks are hardly enough to visit all the 7,017 islands, but everybody needs to start from somewhere. Use this itinerary for a proper introduction to the Philippines
Day 1: Arrive at Manila
Many of the international flights to the Philippines land in the airport at Manila. Take this chance to explore this vibrant city!
On your first day feel free to visit Intramuros, the walled portion of the old city, which dates back to Spanish colonial times in the 16th century. Do not forget to snap a picture of the amazing Manila Cathedral and San Agustin Monastery. After exploring Intramuros, enjoy a relaxing walk along coastal Roxas Boulevard.
Day 1-3: Explore Manila.
There are various attractions you can find, for example a massive Chinese Cemetery and, if you’re in the mood for a day trip, Corregidor Island, which is one of the most interesting places you can visit if you’re into WWII history. Finally, spent a few hours or more in one of the many malls in Manilla.
Day 4-7: Taal Volcano
Rent a car and visit the beautiful Taal Volcano! The out-of-this world scenery is worth the few hours of travel: you will never see another volcano in a massive lake and then with a much smaller one inside it.
Spend a few days in the nearby town which goes by the same name and explore the stunning Taal Cathedral and the heritage homes that date back to the 19th century.
Day 8-12: Banaue Rice Terraces
Some of the rice terraces in Banaue, including the UNESCO World Heritage site “The Amphitheatre,” are more than 5,000 years old, making them the oldest existing examples of human agriculture by far. Between hiking through the terraces, sampling delicious regional cuisine and mingling with healthy locals, there’s plenty to do in Ifugao Province.
Day 12-14: Boracay
Boracay has a reputation of one of the most beautiful islands in the world and there’s a reason for this! Spend a few days simply cherishing the amazing nature around you, the warm beaches and the crystal blue water!
This would be a perfect ending of a perfect holiday! Go back to Manila to catch your plane and see you next time
